Ranges reflect typical Sacramento-area projects at this tier, not a quote — final pricing is confirmed with a free in-home assessment.

Granite is quarried, cut, and polished stone — no two slabs are identical, which means the countertop you install is one only your kitchen will ever have. Homeowners who choose granite are usually chasing that natural-stone look: real mineral veining, depth you can see into, and color variation from edge to edge. It also handles heat exceptionally well, so setting a hot pan straight off the stove isn't the concern it can be with some other surfaces.

Granite does ask a little more of you than an engineered surface. Because it's a porous natural stone, it needs to be sealed at installation and re-sealed periodically to resist staining from oil, wine, and acidic foods. For homeowners who don't mind that light annual maintenance in exchange for a genuinely one-of-a-kind slab, granite is usually the right call — and at this price point it's often the most cost-effective way into real natural stone.

    What's Included with Granite Installation

Granite starts with slab selection — before anything is cut, you'll pick the actual physical slab your countertop comes from, either from our stock or a stone yard, so you know exactly what pattern and coloring you're getting. That's different from quartz, where you're choosing a factory-consistent pattern from a sample.

Once the slab is chosen, we template your cabinets and cut the stone to fit, including any sink, cooktop, and outlet cutouts. You'll also choose an edge profile — eased, bullnose, ogee, or a simple straight edge — which is included in the installation price at this tier.

Sealing is part of the install, not an upsell — every granite countertop we put in gets sealed before we hand it back to you, so it's protected from day one. We'll also walk you through how often it needs to be resealed going forward, typically about once a year for most kitchens.

    What to Expect

Typical timeline: 2-3 weeks from template to finished install

After you've picked your slab, we laser-template your cabinets for an exact fit. Fabrication — cutting, edging, and polishing the actual stone — typically takes 1-2 weeks, since each slab is cut individually rather than pulled from a standardized run.

Installation day itself is usually a single day: we set the slab, secure it, cut and polish seams if your layout needs more than one piece, and complete cutouts for your sink and cooktop. We finish with sealing and a walkthrough where we check every seam and edge with you before we leave.

Is This Tier Right for You?

Granite is the right fit if you want the look and feel of real, natural stone and don't mind a small amount of upkeep to protect it. It's also usually the more budget-friendly entry point into natural stone compared to premium and exotic marble slabs.

If you cook heavily and know you won't stay on top of resealing, or you want zero maintenance and a perfectly uniform pattern, Quartz is worth a look instead — it skips sealing entirely and resists staining a bit better. If your goal is a rarer, more dramatic look and price isn't the deciding factor, our Premium & Marble tier includes exotic granites and true marble slabs you won't find in standard granite inventory.

For most Sacramento kitchens, granite hits the sweet spot: real stone, real durability, and a price that doesn't require the same budget as an exotic or marble slab. It's also a practical choice for our climate — granite handles the summer heat that radiates through south-facing kitchen windows without any risk of warping or fading the way some engineered surfaces can over years of direct sun exposure.
