Refresh Bathroom Remodeling in Sacramento
Ranges reflect typical Sacramento-area projects at this tier, not a quote — final pricing is confirmed with a free in-home assessment.
If your bathroom's layout works fine but everything in it looks like it hasn't been touched since the house was built, a Refresh is probably the right scope. This tier is for homeowners whose shower or tub still functions properly, whose plumbing is in good shape, and whose real complaint is that the vanity, tile, and fixtures look dated, worn, or just don't match the rest of the house anymore.
A Refresh doesn't move plumbing lines and doesn't touch the shower or tub footprint. There's no reframing and no new waterproofing membrane involved, because the wet areas aren't being opened up. It's the fastest, least disruptive way to make a tired bathroom feel current again without paying for structural work you don't actually need.
What a Bathroom Refresh Covers
The centerpiece of most Refresh projects is the vanity. We remove the old cabinet and install a new one with a fresh countertop, typically quartz or a durable laminate depending on your budget, along with a new sink, faucet, and updated hardware. For many homeowners, swapping out a builder-grade vanity for something with real storage and a countertop that doesn't stain is the single biggest visual upgrade in the whole project.
Floors usually get new tile or luxury vinyl installed over the existing subfloor, since the layout isn't changing. If your existing tile is in good structural shape but just looks outdated, we can also regrout and reseal it as a lower-cost alternative to full replacement. Toilets typically get replaced with a new, water-efficient model, and we'll swap out the shower head, tub filler, and any exposed shower/tub hardware for something that matches your new fixtures.
Lighting, mirrors, and paint round out the scope. A new vanity light fixture and mirror make a bigger difference than most homeowners expect, and a fresh coat of moisture-resistant paint ties the whole room together. What a Refresh does not include is replacing the shower pan, moving the tub, retiling a full shower surround, or any plumbing relocation — those are Mid-Range Remodel or Full Renovation territory.
- New vanity cabinet, countertop, sink, and faucet
- New floor tile or luxury vinyl in the existing footprint
- Updated toilet, shower/tub fixtures, mirror, and vanity lighting
- Fresh paint and hardware throughout

What to Expect
Typical timeline: 1-2 weeks
Most Refresh projects run one to two weeks from demo to final walkthrough. We start by removing the old vanity, toilet, and any flooring being replaced, then prep the room for new tile if that's part of your scope. Because we're not opening up the shower or tub area, there's no waterproofing membrane to cure and no framing inspection to wait on, which is why this tier moves so much faster than the other two.
Once the floor tile is set and grouted, we install the new vanity, toilet, fixtures, lighting, and mirror, then finish with paint and hardware. Your bathroom stays largely usable throughout most of the project — the shower or tub itself is rarely out of commission for more than a day or two, if at all.
Is This Tier Right for You?
A Refresh is the right call if your bathroom's bones are solid — the shower doesn't leak, the tub isn't cracked, and you're not trying to change how the space is laid out. It's the most budget-friendly way to get rid of a dated vanity, tired tile, and fixtures that make the whole room feel old, and it gets done in a fraction of the time of a bigger project.
If your shower pan is leaking, your tub is old enough that you're thinking about converting to a walk-in shower, or your flooring has water damage underneath it, step up to the Mid-Range Remodel — a Refresh won't touch any of that because it doesn't open up the wet areas. And if your bathroom's actual layout doesn't work (too small, an awkward door swing, no room to move), that's a Full Renovation conversation, since it involves changes a Refresh isn't scoped for.
One honest note: if there's any chance you'll want a new shower or tub in the next few years, it's worth discussing during your free estimate. We can sometimes sequence the vanity and finish selections in a Refresh so they won't clash with a shower upgrade down the road.
